I've finally got to the stage where I'm finishing off the modelled portion of my little Eifel town called Schabbach.
Trying to determine the correct width for a road, I've been using a width of 5 cm in N scale. According to a reference in an old ALBA Landscape modelling manual, this is the correct width for a 'Landstrasse'.
Having nearly finished the road surfaces, using DAS modelling clay, 5cm seems fairly wide in my opinion.
From personal observation it seems to me that 4cm might be nearer the mark.
Can anybody confirm the minimum road widths for urban and rural locations in West Germany around 1970?
