There's a very curious building in Riverside Park in Manhattan. It's called the Peter Jay Sharp Volunteer House and was built in 2003. I first noticed it years ago and was struck by how much it resembles a German Stellwerk building. Perhaps the architect is a Deutsche Bundesbahn railfan or better yet a German model railway fan. Here is its location in Google Maps. In any case, here are a few photos of this curious structure for your enjoyment. It was a fun discovery for me, a rare Deutsche Bundesbahn modeler in New York. Take a look and I think you'll agree that there's a striking resemblance to a Stellwerk.
My 13 year old son Alexander is standing in front of the building.
