I should have mentioned that the Trix D XI locos have one problem: if you fit Kurzkupplungen they will not haul cab-first around tight curves without derailing the trailing coach. This is because the buffers are too close together and the inside ones simply push against each other. I looked at fitting spring-operated Weinert buffers, but they're too big so even at full compression they are as long as the original buffers. This is a pity considering they are the standard branchline engine, but the only (model) one which seems to have this problem.
