I got to see my friend's new tram from Hoedl-Linie8 yesterday. He was very happy with it, and is considering getting another. He bought it without a decoder, which was ~40EUR installed. Shipping was 39EUR and took 3 weeks to Montreal. Payment was via PayPal, they don't take credit cards. There was a minor snafu with the payment because I used my wife's PayPal account, but was straightened out as soon as I bothered to follow up.

The unit runs well. There was some very slight gear noise, possibly due to running it on channel 0 on the DCC test track. The body shell is a clear casting to accommodate the large windows with the body colour and some small details printed on. The interior is detailed and looks good through the large windows. The interior floor has been raised a bit, so passengers may need to be trimmed at the shins. Except for a couple of bits of wiring, the mechanism is invisible. There were no lights.
