The loco is a part of a newer generation Roco locos, that according to rumours is not designed in-house of Roco. It is shown by the body is held by screws and not clipped on, and cogwheels are narrower than the usual Roco ones. The V200.1/BR221 is of the same construction.

Klaus, thanks for the review.  You write that you can tell the model is of a new design because the body is held on by screws, and say the new Roco 221 is the same.  I have one of the new Roco 221 (item 62841) and according to the manual that came with it, the body is held on by clips on the sides, just like the older production models.  However, when I tried to service the model after 40 hours of use, I could not get the clips to release by any means.  It is as if they had been glued tight with superglue (Sekundenkleber).  I gave up because I was afraid of severely damaging the body.  Since then I run the model without lubrication until it fails - not a very satisfactory situation.  This was one of the first production run that had to be returned to Roco because the driving lights were installed upside down.  I wonder if the gluing of the clips (if that is what has happened) occurred during the repair.
