David,

The special Passion Play trains haven't been used since 1990. During the 90s, the passing sidings along the line were slowly but surely removed until the only one left was at Bad Kohlgrub, the middle of the line. The only "special" trains they have been able to run to Oberammergau since the mid-to-late 90s have been trains that have taken the place of regularly scheduled trains.

Tony,

I haven't seen anything about the fate of the remainder of the station building. The part that is shown as demolished was the waiting room. The remainder is the original building (although the waiting room soon followed). I sure hope I don't see another photo of the REST of the building in shambles.

BTW, I'm not sure if you could tell, but about 4 or 5 other buildings (along with all but one platform) were leveled as well! This included the goods shed(s), a warehouse, and a restaurant that was connected to the station building via a common covered area. We ate at this cafe whenever we visited Oberammergau because it was close to our apartment, close to the tracks, had great food, and was cheap. I guess I'll have to find someplace else to eat in 2008.
