I noticed that the new Matrix 290 has a cardan drive as well. Perhaps Göpingen (if that's still their head office...) has had a shift of philosophy regarding drive systems, at least in their diesel and electric models. That can only be an improvement.

It's interesting about TEE's 50th anniversary. Although the RAm may be Roco's only nod to that event, I'm still wondering about them doing their Rheingold in 1:87: but I've been speculating about that for years. It's strange that they are avoiding 1:87 TEE coaches; the 3 car TEE set they produced years ago is like hen's teeth to find, and always brings top dollar on eBay. I'm sure they would be a big seller.

BTW: isn't some smaller outfit already intending to do an RAm in 1:87?
