Thought I'd share this little idea. One of the members on STUMMIS FORUM came up with a good idea for making tunnel entrances and retaining walls.

It works now, I went off line and back on again a few hours later. I didn't otherwise change anything: the internet moves in mysterious ways!
This method of producing tunnel mouths looks good. I shall try it on my next layout, whenever that happens. I'm still working on 'Schabbach', an N scale layout I started nearly twenty years ago. I blame the Hornby 'Merchant Navy', plus a few other Hornby and Bachmann British outline 4mm scale (O.K. 16.5mm gauge) Southern locomotives for a twelve year diversion when I was in Saudi Arabia.
For 'Schabbach', I used two single bore plaster cast portals that I found at the Gangelt show, an old Pola portal which I modified so that it was not immediately recognisable as a kit, and an even older Faller portal which I must have had since about 1970.
The plaster tunnel mouths were unmodified. The plastic ones were changed so that they had the correct height and width. The Pola modifications were inspired by the excellent work on the 'Lahntalbahn' N scale layout.
