Hello fellow modellers, My name is Dave Marshall I am 62 and retired, I have recently joined the forum following a Google search for info on the Roco BR57. I have purchased the loco as spares /repair in pieces and very over-oiled, it is now up and running thanks to the information on this forum. I model in HO scale both DB epoch 3 and USA 1970-1990 ( 2 layouts). I have to date a Roco V200, Piko V200, Fleischmann BR 18, Roco BR57 and a Roco BR215 (all DCC) and a decent collection of coaches and wagons. The German layout is making a transition from UK OO scale to DB HO scale, not as daunting as I originally thought as the trackplan is staying a similar 16ft x 6ft double track main with storage sidings. The US is a small 12ft x 2ft switching layout. I am not trying to model a specific area or time as I am not that knowledgeable about German railways so I tend to model what looks good to me. I hope to gain a lot of information off the forum concerning German railways, model and prototype, but also impart any relevant knowledge or information that I have gained over the years. I am very keen on DCC and have equipped all my locos with decoders and some with sound so look forward to discussions on this subject. Looking through the topics on the forum I have been very impressed with layouts and the information that is available.
