Need to move your MR and loose buildings ?
I recently had to pack up my Model Railway for a long distance move (1100km) and needed a way to transport my modules and loose buildings in a secure manner. Loose structures can be a pain to move because some detailed parts and the tidily things always managed to break off. I put a dab of hot glue on the corners of my buildings, diorama's, and placed them onto some sections of foam core board to hold them in place. It doesn't take much and the glue can be peeled off later.
First I built the crates big enough to accommodate a module with a second level for my buildings.
The second level is old shelving, screwed to the crate, to hold the layer of buildings.
The foam core boards were placed onto the second level and held in place with some screws (two per board).
All my structures, dioramas and modules, arrived safe and sound at our new home. The best part is everything: foam core board, shelves and crates can be reused for other things.
