I was just watching a video from the Eisenbahn Romantik series and the beginning is dedicated to Stromlinienloks, streamlined steam locomotives. According to the Wikipedia "Stromlinienlokomotive" article, the German railways removed all the streamlined cladding after WWII:
Bei allen aufgezählten Lokomotiven wurde, sofern sie nicht ausgemustert wurden, nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg die Stromlinienverkleidung entfernt.
The only other attempt was with the two BR10 locomotives in 1957 which were short-lived.
I find this odd: wouldn't streamlining enhance the efficiency of the steam locomotives? Does anybody know any details about this?
By the way, apparently 01 1102 had its streamlining restored in 1996:
